The Biathlon World Cup stage in the Südtirol Arena began on Thursday with a surprise: Tiril Eckhoff, who had not been on the radar of the pundits, sprinted to victory before Laura Dahlmeier. With Dorothea Wierer an athlete from South Tyrol was among the top ten.
 
Norwegian biathletes continue to deliver an extraordinary show at the World Cup in Anterselva: 24 hours after Tiril Eckhoff's surprising victory, her compatriot Johannes Thingnes Bø won the men's Sprint. He came first in a duel with this constant rival Martin Fourcade.
 
With an out of this world performance Johannes Thingnes Bø secured his second victory in 24 hours at the Biathlon World Cup in Anterselva. As on the previous day, the Norwegian high flyer retained the upper hand in a constant duel with Martin Fourcade.
 
The first pursuit race at the World Cup in the Südtirol Arena on Saturday turned out to be an extraordinary biathlon party: Laura Dahlmeier raced to victory in front of 22,000 thrilled spectators, acclaimed local hero Dorothea Wierer came second.

Belarusian Darya Domracheva confidently won the mass start race at the World Cup in the Südtirol Arena and with it the last women's competition before the Winter Olympic Games in South Korea. For a long time it looked as if local athlete Dorothea Wierer would end up leading the way.

After winning Thursday's sprint race, Simon Schempp from Germany also achieves Gold in the last sprint of the pursuit competition.

In the women's World Cup sprint at Antholz Darya Deomrecheva from Belorus demonstrated her outstanding capability by winning the speed race and taking 1st place in the World Cup ranking, taking over the red bib from Dorothea Wierer from Italy, who finished 18th today.
