Bumsi the mascot

The mascot Bumsi as a TV star The Antholz Biathlon World Cup could not pass by the entertainment genius Stefan Raab unnoticed. And knowing Stefan Raab, what struck him was not the sports performance. The Antholz mascots are renown for their spirit and their fooling around: a real attraction in the stadium. Reason enough for Stefan Raab to take them to his TV programme last summer, where he was puzzled by the name „Bumsi“. However the name of the Antholz mascot has not been invented without a reason (like some might think). No, the name „Bumsi“ has a reasonable origin: as biathlon consists in cross-country skiing and shooting, and as the sound of skiing can hardly be reproduced by human speech, but the sound of shots can („Bum – Bum – Bum“), this „Bum – Bum – Bum“ was turned into the name „Bumsi“. Bumsi is now available not only as a single, but as a whole family. In the fan shop the three plush mascots are on sale for mere 22 €. Don’t miss to visit the fan shop.
