Mixed Relay

It's all about the Mix

When two women and two men from one nation compete together as a team, they keep up the tension right to the last minute.

In this discipline each nation sends its two best ladies and gentlemen into the race. The combination of both sexes is exciting, because the individual performance of a world-class athlete is not enough. This also gives the "minor" nations a good opportunity to race to the top, because the mix makes the difference. Only the team that competes well together can prevail in the end. Who will be at the top in Antholz?

ALL ABOUT THE MIXED RELAY
As the name says, the mixed relay is a mixed-gender competition, formed with teams of two women and two men.
The competition specifics are, in principle the same as in the regular relays. Women compete over 6km, men over 7.5 km.

The Technical Committee decides in advance who begins the race: the two male athletes or the two female athletes, indicated by (M-W) or (W-M).
